polynucleotides
What are polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are a powerful form of regenerative medicine made from highly purified strands of DNA fragments. Polynucleotides work at a cellular level focusing on restoring and repairing normal cellular structure. They initiate cell regeneration in the skin promoting cell turnover, stimulating tissue repair, boosting collagen production and improving skin elasticity.
Polynucleotides activate fibroblasts which are the essential cells in the dermis responsible for producing collagen, elastin and other structural components of the extracellular matrix (ECM). As we age our fibroblast activity decreases leading to thinner, weaker and less elastic skin. Polynucleotides works by reactivating these vital cells to naturally promote cellular regeneration, collagen production, elastin synthesis, strong hydrophilic (water attracting) properties and anti-inflammatory action.

frequently asked questions

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that stimulate the skins natural regeneration process. They activate fibroblasts (cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin) to restore firmness, elasticity and hydration. Their strong water binding properties improve deep skin hydration, while their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects calm and repair damaged or ageing skin.
By working at a cellular level Polynucleotides repair tissue, boost skin quality and support long term skin health.

We recommend 2/3 treatments 2/4 weeks apart to achieve optimal results.
We then recommend a top up treatment every 6-9 months to preserve and enhance results.

All make-up will be removed from the area to be treated so wear no make-up or minimal make-up to the appointment.
Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before (and after) the procedure.
Discontinue blood thinning medication 7 days prior to treatment, as they may increase the risk of bruising, this includes aspirin and ibuprofen (please check with your Dr before stopping prescribed medication). Also avoid St Johnβs Wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, Vitamins C and E 24 hours before treatment.
Avoid using topical products such as Tretinoin, Retinols and Glycolic Acid 3 days prior treatment.
Contact clinic prior to treatment if you have any illness such as colds, coughs or sore throat or any skin infections.
Contact the clinic if you have any other procedures planned such as facials and dental appointments.
Arnica tablets can be taken 3 days before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Ensure you have had something to eat prior to treatment to decrease the chances of light-headedness.
-
You may have redness, and bruising is possible and may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising.
Avoid wearing make-up 12 hours after treatment
Avoid sunbathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post-treatment.
Avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours
Contact the clinic if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days, rather than settling.
